This supposedly appeared in at least one newspaper in the Vineland area.... I am aware of how pretentious it might be, but I think it's also accurate...

My original inspirations were the backdrops of sunsets with ambiguous clouds which penetrated red skies, complemented by dark green fields of wispy asparagus. Aside from dramatic color juxtaposition, what attracts me most is an intense array of light, carefully framed. Objects are often unfocused or so obscured that they are unrecognizable. The result is a paradox, something gloriously majestic but also crude and mundane. The subject is almost always Nature, largely devoid of human creations. Yet, the photographs are not landscapes, nor are they portraits of any objects. The photograph is not merely an object meant for aesthetic indulgence, but also a historical document of a particular time and space. I choose not to use any photograph enhancing or editing software (other than the occasional grey-scale) because I want the captured image to retain its sacred relation to the moment in which it was beheld.
