Butterfly garden and beyond

This post is just for fun if you're inclined toward entymology.. Iona and I spent last Saturday searching for butterflies, finding grasshoppers, dragonflies, an ant wrestling a caterpillar, even a cowkiller (those photos came out horribly, but I wanted to post one anyway)

Very fresh, taken this past Saturday afternoon in Runnemede, NJ...

Soft focus on the above two photos-- meld into background somewhat

My 4-year-old daughter is holding the honesty plant.. As a rule, I wouldn't put a picture with one of my daughters on this blog (for her privacy and for the fact that she posed), but this photo was an exception because I love the curves and interplay of dark and light here; not to mention that she seems obscured enough that it's acceptable..

Only the difference of a tilt from the photo above this... Evokes a less formal mood with the diagonal lines though, I think, so seems considerably different to me

Shots from inside the house...

All were taken from inside the house, ranging from January to April of 2012... The last three photos display a reflection of a Finnish mobile (also directly displayed in this set) seen on top of another photograph (taken December of 2011) which featured the very same mobile... Happy thoughts to you if you wish to indulge thoughts about objects / surfaces / reflection / screens..
